Terms & Conditions
Liability and Indemnity
All Salt Aotearoa ocean and water based activities are facilitated through contracting service providers who hold their own separate liability and terms and conditions. We will guide you to their website for further information depending on the trip you book to come on.
Individuals travel at their own risk (to the extent permitted by law) and Salt Aotearoais not responsible for any loss, damage, cost, expense or injury suffered by clients or loss or damage to a client’s property.
Without limiting the foregoing, the following conditions apply. In respect of all clients, Salt Aotearoa is not liable for any loss, damage or delay caused by or arising from an event beyond the control of Salt Aotearoa, including any act of God, inevitable accident, riot, civil commotion, strike, lock-out, stoppage or restraint of labour, regardless of the cause and whether partial or general. Salt Aotearoa is not liable to an individual or any other person for any loss or damage as a result of a cancellation or any variation of the time of arrival or departure from any stop of any vehicle, for damage to any property of a client or for the death of any client or other person or for injury, harm, disease or damage to health, whether physical, mental or otherwise (including mental or nervous shock or distress) suffered by an individual or any other person. The individual indemnifies Salt Aotearoa at all times against any loss, damage or cost suffered or incurred by Salt Aotearoa as a direct or indirect result of a breach by the individual of its obligations under these terms and conditions.
All are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation, evacuation, possible loss of personal belongings and medical cover. Please read your insurance policy carefully and ensure it covers all potential activities. In a medical emergency, any evacuation, medical or other expenses are the financial responsibility of that individual.
We reserve the right to change locations, accommodation, prices, vessels, transport and itineraries due to unforeseen circumstances and weather, and without notice, but with full consideration of your safety and your circumstances.
Accommodation on multiday adventures will vary from trip to trip and we will let you know whether there are options for twin share vs single rooms vs ensuite.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a booking and secure your spot. Full payment must be received 5 weeks prior to trip departure date.

With the Traffic Light System in effect settings around vaccine requirement and the spread of COVID are changing for us all.
With that we will require proof you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
You can receive proof from the New Zealand Government's My Vaccine Pass which can be presented digitally or as a hard copy.
We also expect clients to have travel insurance which covers last minute cancellations due to positive test results.
If you have any concerns around this feel free to give us a call anytime.
In principle normal Terms and Conditions are the starting point for every conversation.
We acknowledge this is not ‘normal’ times and we encourage clients that foresee any issues to contact us as early as possible so that we have the time to work through a solution together.
