Join us for an epic evening alongside our mates at Wettie led by the one and only Darren Shields as we dive into one of the most important parts of spearfishing: safety, conditions, and learning how to properly read the ocean 🌊

Too many people enter the water knowing how to hunt fish… but not necessarily how to read changing conditions, weather systems, swell, wind, currents, or know when to call a dive off.

This workshop is all about building confidence, awareness, and safer decision-making in the ocean.

We’ll yarn through:
• how to read weather and swell reports
• understanding tides, wind, and local conditions
• planning safer dive missions
• recognising changing risk in the water
• common safety mistakes and near misses
• improving confidence and ocean awareness
• and answer ALL the questions you’ve been wanting to ask

This is the perfect workshop for beginner spearos, curious newcomers, and experienced divers wanting to sharpen their knowledge and connect with other wāhine in a supportive ocean community space.
